We wanted a full-fledged functioning kitchen where we could be food artists as well. Five burner gas range, convection oven, stainless work table and hanging pot rack. CHECK!
Christmas in the Bedroom
Lights. Can there ever be enough at Christmas. In front of the Belgian linen draperies, this basket of LED's adds just the festive touch, without taking over.
Sleeping Space with Room to Read
We made the headboard from three collaged doors, using double panes with transparent glass in front of an existing window, to transmit natural light. As a sleeping space, we usually tumble into bed, exhausted after a hard day implementing an idea one of us had. Gray to soothe/Red to inspire. NOTE: Buy the best mattress you can afford, if you want to know heaven on earth.
Uplight for Shadows and Lift
The uplight behind the chair--with a 5W 2700K LED lamp burns 24/7 to provide night light and drama. The fish lamp has a built-in dimmer to contribute to the mood. I sealed some Birch branches and suspended them in front of the mirror on fishing line for interest. The inexpensive Slipper chair blends in and offers generous room when prime seating gets taken.
Hallway for a King
Though not a Gold person, this wide hallway told me to be daring. Gold Leaf on one wall (knocked down, with a glaze), dresser by Speak2Me and art by local talent. The birds in cigar box lids by Patrick Girouard.
Enter the Spa
Penny floor, slate walls, mosaic glass windows, walk-in glass shower. and pedestal sink on a concrete counter. When you don't have a lot of square footage, work with what you have, to create all the luxuries of a SPA. Today's showers even offer jets and steam.
Guest Bedroom Awaits Company
Rice bed with LOTS of bed clothes, to be removed by sleeper as desired. Art on clothesline, with LED string lights for fun. Feather bed, quilt and down comforter in linen duvet. Shhhhhhhhhhh.
